Jewish Food & Cultural Festival 2019

Back in March I traveled to Little Rock for the annual Jewish Food & Cultural Festival. I went with a sweet friend of mine, and we met up with one of her sweet friends. We had a wonderful time!

It was really cold that morning so we were all ready to eat some matzo ball soup! It was the perfect food for a cold day!

A scroll of the Torah.

A basket full of yarmulkes.

After we all enjoyed the festival we went to La Madeleine’s for a nice cup of coffee and a tasty pastry! It was my first time to go there and it was amazing!

I opted for a small cappuccino and the ‘pastry of the day’ that was recommenced by the owner. It was delicious!

I had a mille-feuile and guys it was amazing!

We sat right by the fireplace and it made for an even more amazing experience. I mean come on- fireplace, coffee, and deep conversation with new and old friends makes for a great afternoon!

I took a quick picture of the inside, I will definitely come back!

I bought a loaf of poppy seed challah home. My Mum said it made excellent French toast as well!

I had a lot of fun and can’t wait for next years festival!

Chloe’ Mae’s Coffee Corner Talks Part 7

Coffee- Check

Chrome Book- Check

Comfy Clothes- Check

Messy Hair- Check

Okay, now let’s move on to a more serious topic. Are y’all ready?

You are not alone. You matter a lot to people around you. Don’t think that you are lonely. Here lately I’ve had many people tell me that they feel alone, that they aren’t worth it to some people, that they won’t ever find someone. All that is FALSE….Very, very false.

I’m not always great at wording things, and when these people came up to me and told me this saying “Don’t think that” didn’t seem enough. Yes, I want to help them and give them the best advice that I can, but I don’t always have the words to say. I can listen to them all day long, but when it comes to giving them words of advice and encouragement I sometimes lack in that area.

So this post tonight is my way of telling them that I care for them, they matter to me, and that they are not alone. I’m telling that to them, and I’m telling that to you if you feel this way.

You are not alone. I’m here for you, your family is here for you, and there are those that you interact with on a daily basis that are there for you- co-workers, classmates, neighbors. We care for you, love you, want you in our lives. We may not always see each other for various reasons, but that doesn’t change how any of us feel about you. You matter to us and we would do anything in our power to help you and make things better.

I wish I could make things better for y’all. I wish that I could snap my fingers and-BOOM- make things better, but I can’t.

These are the things that I can do for you:

  1. I can listen to you. I can listen to you talk about the things going on in your life. I can listen to the crazy jokes y’all tell or the clumsy thing you’ve done today. I can listen to your plans and hopes and dreams.
  2. I can be there for you. I may not be able to be there for you psychically when you need me to be, but I can be a phone call, text, Facetime call away.
  3. I can pray for you. It may not seem like much to some, but I know that to y’all it means a lot.
  4. I can do my best to make you laugh and smile when you’re down. Whether this is by cracking a dumb joke, a story of a clumsy thing I’ve done that day, or a funny picture.

These are the ways I can show you that you’re not alone. I know it’s not much, but it’s my best and that’s what I want to give y’all. Have a good night everyone.
